Project Overview

For this recently constructed garden annex in Chichester, West Sussex, Keystone Glazing was asked to provide a window solution that combined traditional styling with the performance and practicality of modern uPVC.

We supplied and installed white woodgrain flush sash uPVC windows throughout the annex, selected for their timber-reminiscent appearance and clean external sightlines.

The Project

The design of the new annex called for windows with more character than a conventional smooth uPVC casement.

A white woodgrain finish was chosen to introduce the subtle texture and appearance associated with painted timber, while the flush sash design ensures that the opening sections sit neatly in line with the outer frame when viewed externally.

The result is a much cleaner, more traditional appearance while retaining the low maintenance, security and thermal performance benefits of a modern uPVC window system.

Flush Sash, Timber-Inspired Design

Unlike a conventional uPVC casement window, where the opening sash projects beyond the face of the frame, these windows are flush externally.

This creates simpler lines and a more balanced appearance that’s particularly well suited to traditional properties, extensions, garden rooms and annexes.

The woodgrain finish further softens the appearance of the uPVC, helping recreate the character of painted timber without the regular painting and maintenance associated with traditional timber windows.

Designed Around the Annex

Several window configurations were installed across the new building, including larger multi-light windows and smaller obscure-glazed units where additional privacy was required.

Opening sections provide practical ventilation, with trickle ventilation incorporated where required, while the different window configurations maintain a consistent flush sash appearance throughout the annex.
