Expert Door Repairs in Chichester & West Sussex

Is your door sticking, not locking properly, or showing signs of wear and tear? At Keystone Glazing, we provide professional door repair services to restore the security, function and appearance of your doors. Whether it’s a misaligned uPVC door, a faulty lock, broken hinges or draughty seals, our team can fix it.

We are a local, family-run company with more than 25 years’ experience of fitting and repairing doors and windows. A repair is often far cheaper than a new door, and we will always tell you honestly whether your door is worth repairing.

Common Door Problems We Fix

Dropped or misaligned doors

If your door catches on the frame, has to be lifted to lock, or the key is hard to turn, the door has usually dropped on its hinges. We adjust or replace the hinges and re-align the door so it closes and locks smoothly again.

Faulty locks and multi-point mechanisms

Most uPVC and composite doors use a multi-point locking mechanism that runs the full height of the door. When a gearbox wears or snaps, the handle goes floppy or the door won’t lock at all. We repair and replace multi-point mechanisms, gearboxes and cylinders, and can fit anti-snap cylinders to improve security.

Broken hinges and handles

Worn or snapped hinges and handles can compromise security. We fit good-quality replacements to match your door.

Draughts, leaks and worn seals

Gaps around a door let in cold air and rain and push up your energy bills. We replace worn gaskets and seals, adjust the door into its frame and fix leaking thresholds.

Misted or broken door glass

If the glass in your composite or uPVC door is misted or damaged, we measure and replace the sealed unit, with patterned, obscure or decorative glass to match.

Sticking patio and French doors

We repair sliding door runners and tracks, adjust French doors that no longer meet in the middle, and replace their locks, handles and glass.

Types of Doors We Repair

  • uPVC doors – realignment, locks, handles, hinges and weatherproofing.
  • Composite doors – multi-point locks, glazing, hinges and seals.
  • Timber and wooden doors – swelling, sticking and security problems.
  • French and patio doors – sliding door tracks, runners and glass panels.
  • Commercial and aluminium doors – repairs for shopfronts and business premises.

Repair or Replace?

Most door faults can be fixed for a fraction of the cost of a new door. If a door is badly warped, rotten or beyond economical repair, we will explain why and talk you through the options. We fit Endurance composite doors in a wide choice of styles and colours, and you can design a composite door, an aluminium door or bifold doors online before we visit.

Window Repairs Too

We also repair windows: misted or blown sealed units, cracked glass, and stiff or broken window hinges, handles and locks. See our double glazing repairs and glass replacement services.

Door Repair Questions

My uPVC door is hard to lock. Can it be fixed?

Usually, yes. A door that needs lifting or forcing to lock has normally dropped on its hinges or has a worn locking mechanism. Adjusting the hinges and keeps, or replacing the gearbox, usually solves it.

Can you repair a composite door lock?

Yes. We repair and replace multi-point locks, gearboxes, cylinders and handles on composite doors, and can upgrade to anti-snap cylinders for better security.

Can you replace the glass in my front door?

Yes. We replace misted, cracked or broken glass in uPVC and composite doors, including obscure and decorative glass.

Is it worth repairing an old door?

If the door and frame are sound, a repair is usually far cheaper than a replacement. If the door is warped or beyond economical repair, we will tell you honestly and quote for a new one.
